Joining us at our booth were award winning comic colourist and writer Lovern Kindzierski, Canadian comic art legend Claude St. Aubin, and writer editor Alexander Finbow. Our Spinechillers compatriot Doug Bradley was also on hand but had to be stationed at a table in the celebrity signing area as too many creative forces in the same place would have been an explosive risk.

Calgary is our local convention and we were really pleased to be able to launch Lovern's fantasy graphic novel Shame Conception there. Not available in stores till July 13th, convention attendees were eager to check out Lovern's words and John Bolton's wonderful watercolor painted strip work. Lovern was happy to sign books and talk with fans about the story and its' creation.
Lovern was kept busy signing not only Shame books, but also the very popular VMT posters he coloured. Having learnt from the Seattle convention just how popular William Simpson's antidote to the Twilight vampire story is, we made sure we had enough posters with us to satisfy the demand for his iconic image.

Calude St. Aubin joined us for Friday and Saturday to showcase his beautiful line work for The Loxleys and The War of 1812 comic book. With the first 30 pages now drawn and ready for Lovern's colour genius, Claude was able to give attendees a clear idea of where the book is going stylistically. We heard some great feedback, including encouraging words from teachers, the armed forces, archaeologists and others interested in Canadian history.

Claude was also happy to sign posters, as well as other comics he has drawn over the years. From the feedback we received from fans, we've decided to print a special preview comic of the first 31 pages of the comic book, which we'll premiere at the Toronto Fan Expo in August.
With Spinechillers fans enamoured with Doug's live readings on Friday night, it was all we could do to satisfy demand for the audiobooks, and we quickly sold out of all copies of Liz Dodsworth's delightfully illustrated hardback children's book Granny's Attic. I think another print run may be in order.
Now we're busily back at work, the 1812timeline is online now for public beta testing, adding another layer of history to the Loxleys and the War of 1812 project. We're also gearing up for maybe, just maybe, pre-launching VMT issue 1 at Toronto Fan Expo, and we should have the second Shades of Grey comic ready then too.

The facebook pages for each title we publish are going live this week, they are great places to talk to the creators and find out the latest news for each project.
Now, I must hurry back down the candle lit tunnels to my chisel and carry on with the creative tasks that await me.
Thank you to all who came to find us in Calgary, we hope you enjoy our stories.
