The Loxleys get animated

One of my big ideas for The Loxleys and the War of 1812 story was to hopefully see it as an animated movie one day. Knowing that it would reach a bigger audience than the books or tablet apps could. To that end I contracted Hollywood screenwriter Tab Murphy to adapt Alan's comic script into a feature length screenplay. He did a wonderful job and one day I hope we'll be in a position to see that movie produced. In the meantime, Arcana Studios in Vancouver showed me some shots from their latest motion comics. They featured lip sync characters with simple yet effective animation built from the original artwork in the comics.

Calgary to Denver via Canmore

Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo went really well for us here at Renegade, it was hard to go wrong this year with Alan Grant, Lovern kindzierski, Claude St. Aubin and Greg GMB Chomichuk joining Luisa and me at our booth. Not featured in this rogues gallery photo is cartoonist, Jeff Martin, who also joined us to delight visitors with his own brand of sketching genius, farting militia and all.

Alan Grant, Jon Haward and Jamie Grant's humour strip Tales of the Buddha Before He Got Enlightened, features the young Buddha taking a rather hedonistic detour on his quest to find enlightenment. Collected in print for the first time, these comic strips originally ran in anthology magazines Northern Lights and Wasted, plus the guys created new strips exclusively for this release. As Alan is a founder member of this little creator owned company, and that I laughed out loud at least twice upon first reading the stories, we couldn't say no when Alan asked if we'd help him put out this first print collection.
