TCAF Popped

Our first appearance at TCAF went really well and reminded me of the Bristol and Birmingham comics only conventions I'd visited back in England several years ago. More than 20,000 people turned up to the Toronto Reference Library over the swelteringly hot weekend, meeting local, Canadian, and international comic creators in an event that has taken over pretty much the entire library space.

Expocalypse

More than 102,000 people turned up for the 10th Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. All of them stopped at our booth to say hello, it was exhausting and wonderful. To have both John Bolton and Lovern Kindzierski signing together for the first time at a convention was a big thrill and I'm glad that many Shame fans were able to meet them. I'm hoping this won't be John's last appearance at the Calgary Expo.

Calgary Entertainment Expo and Us

The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo is 10 years old already? Wow... It really has grown up since Kandrix and Kelly Dowd invited us to our first local show in 2010. It has to be a top 5 convention for North America now, based on attendee numbers (maybe more than 100,000 this year), guests and the organization itself.

Indigenous Voices of Confederation

We've been working on the follow-up to The Loxleys and The War of 1812 for a while now, and all that time I had a strong feeling that we were missing the voice of Canada's indigenous people. Mark Zuehlke has written a great story that covers the key events leading to the birth of Canada as seen through the eyes of the Loxley family, but we were unsure how to bring in more of the indigenous storylines that I feel have to be in there.

Earning Redemption

Thanks to the whim of our comic book store distributor, Diamond Comics Distribution, Shame Redemption is now on sale in comic book stores across North America. Most bookstores are sticking with the March 25th release date, mainly as that is when they will receive books from their distributors.
