Arctic Comics Ends

Alexander Finbow - Monday, October 23, 2017
The current incarnation of our popular comic anthology, Arctic Comics, has sadly come to an end. As much as we’d like to move forward with a reprint and a paperback edition, we’re reluctantly forced to shelve those plans. The original agreements Nicholas Burns put in place with the creators only covered a first printing. We had hoped to renegotiate to allow for more printings etc. However, author Michael Kusugak would like to see his story, On Waiting, and his brother Jose’ story Kiviuq vs Big Bee, published together in a standalone format. This is completely within his rights and we wish Michael well with whichever publisher he chooses to take the stories to. As a result we are no longer able to publish Michael’s stories in Arctic Comics, so there will be no more physical printed copies of Arctic Comics produced. If you have a copy, it makes it a collectors item.

Michael has also asked that the stories be removed from the digital versions of Arctic Comics too. This means that in 24 hours it will disappear from our webstore, and will disappear from our digital distribution partners’ sites too.

If you are not familiar with the stories in Arctic Comics, and Michael’s stories in particular, I do encourage you to to pick up his book when it is released. As for our plans, we’ll hopefully publish something in a similar vein to Arctic Comics in the near future, and look forward to working with Michael again so
